Staff Assembly is looking for a volunteer for the Web Communications Chair position, or two volunteers to serve as co-chairs. This appointed position is responsible for updating and maintaining the Staff Assembly website (https://www.staffassembly.uci.edu). The occupant will coordinate with other Staff Assembly Council members to obtain, format, and post website content using a campus-managed WordPress site.
If serving as co-chair, technical knowledge is not required. If you are non-technical and would like to volunteer, we may be able to pair you with a technical person as co-chair.

Term of Office
From appointment through June 2016
Responsibilities
  • Create and update event and announcement information on the Staff Assembly website (< 1 hour per week)
  • Adjust website layout and organization as needed (~ 1 hour every few months)
  • Attend the monthly Staff Assembly Council Meeting, as availability allows (2 hours per month)
Desired Skills / Qualities
  • A desire to be more engaged with the campus community
  • Non-represented, full-time staff
  • Experience with WordPress, Drupal, or other web Content Management System (CMS)
  • Experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Gimp, or other image editing software
  • Comfort working on a collaborative team
  • Availability between noon and 2pm on the second Thursday of each month for the monthly Council meeting
  • The support of your supervisor
