The Staff Assembly Scholarship Program is back and newly renamed to The Mike Puritz Staff Assembly Career Enhancement Scholarship Program.

Applications are being accepted through December 18, 2015.

Scholarship Program Objective

To help UC Irvine career staff employees continue their education in associate, bachelor’s, graduate, or Extension programs at accredited private or public state colleges or universities.

The Staff Assembly Career Enhancement Scholarship Program relies on fundraising and donations from UC Irvine staff and the community. We would like to thank those who have supported our program by participating in our fundraising events and through donations.

Staff Assembly scholarships are offered to full-time or part-time UC Irvine career staff employees, who have completed their six-month probationary period. Eligible courses include those that directly or indirectly impact an employee’s current or future position at UC Irvine. Priority will be given to employees who have demonstrated current or previous University service (i.e. attending Staff Assembly council meetings, volunteering at graduations, assisting with staff appreciation events, participating in Alumni and related fundraising events, etc.).

    • The Scholarship Committee will select award recipients based on available funding and the applicant’s qualifications. Priority will be given to first time applicants.
    • Awards are granted in the amount of $500 or less, per individual, per year, and are not to exceed the cost of fees, books, or directly related expenses.
    • Scholarships are awarded for continuing education in associate, bachelor, graduate, or Extension programs at any accredited private or public state college or university.
    •  Course work must occur during the current UC fiscal year (July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016).
    • Scholarship funds are distributed upon completion of a course and in accordance with the payment schedule established by the Scholarship Committee.
    • Award recipients must submit the following documents to the Scholarship Committee by the deadline indicated on their award letter. Employees who miss the deadline will forfeit their award:
      • An official grade report showing course completion.
      • Receipts demonstrating proof of payment for course, registration fees, and/or books.
      • Taxation of Scholarship and Fellowship Grants and Education Assistance form.

All application materials must be received by December 18, 2015. To apply, please download and print the 2015-2016 Career Enhancement Scholarship Application.
