Vice Chair

Megan Enciso
Arts Student Affairs, Claire Trevor School of the Arts
Academic Counselor/Graduate Program Administrator
5 years of service
Candidate Statement:

As an academic counselor, I have had the pleasure of working at UCI for the past 5+ years, and have enjoyed learning about the campus and meeting people from across the university. Working with students, faculty, and staff has given me the opportunity to see the university from different angles, and has allowed me to help others in many different ways. Having previously served as the Council Communications and Special Programs Officer as well as the Education and Enrichment Co-Chair, I have experience being a part of the Staff Assembly council and holding leadership positions. These positions allowed me to work with staff from across campus, to foster connections and communication between staff, and to encourage engagement and recognition of all the hard work staff do on this campus. From lunch with leaders, to beer tasting at Eureka, to our joint event with UCI PD, I have helped build and maintain programs within Staff Assembly in an effort to help keep staff engaged and supported. Please consider voting for me for the position of Staff Assembly Vice-Chair.

Communications and Special Programs Chair- Elect

Jamie Hernandez
Campaign Initiatives, University Advancement
Development Coordinator

Candidate Statement:

In the past two years of service here at UCI Advancement, I have fully immersed myself in the culture and environment of the University in working with Advancement and have had the opportunity to interact and best serve staff and faculty campus-wide. In my role of Development Coordinator, I have been a liaison for several Development staff in best collaborating on campus-wide initiatives and have served as an officer for communication in many areas throughout my career both here at UCI and previously. I am confident I would excel in this role serving Staff Assembly as I truly value this organization of staff collaborating and capitalizing on volunteer leadership to best serve the institution and promote staff engagement through professional development. I know this role would contribute to my personal professional development as I have interest in growing my communication skills, program management and public speaking capabilities. I appreciate your consideration and am excited to be nominated for an elect position with Staff Assembly.

I am honored to have been nominated for the opportunity to serve as the CUCSA First Year Delegate. During my time at UCI I have benefited from an environment of growth and support, and I am dedicated to better highlighting the staff community and opportunities on campus. I have served on the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Staff subcommittee for staff development, and I was instrumental in creating the UCI staff member video series (Staff Videos): goo.gl/tQ2mnD. Candidate Statement:

As a first-generation college graduate, I represent what makes us all proud to be a part of the UCI family. As such I understand that representation matters if we are to ever close the gaps between different segments of our society, which translates within a university system. Thus, I am humbled and would be honored to represent UCI as First Year Delegate within CUCSA. I will look to advocate on behalf of our staff for the necessary resources to create a work environment that supports diversity, a healthy work-life balance, and continued academic achievement for not only our students but our staff as well. Thank you for your consideration.

Jake Vo

Candidate Statement:

I am delighted and honored to be nominated as a candidate for the UCI Staff Assembly Finance Chair—Elect position. If elected, my goals are to offer my experience and competencies to UCI Staff Council Members, and I look forward to working closely with the Finance Chair Elect and Finance Chair. My current experience as a Finance Analyst in the School of Medicine includes school wide policy development for finance processes, as well as maintaining account records for accurate fund management for the school. To this, I bring to bear a strong knowledge of UCI reimbursement policies and procedures pertaining to standard accounting practices. Furthermore, my extensive knowledge of the Kuali Financial System would be an asset to the UC Irvine Staff Assembly.

In addition to my professional contributions, I am an emphatic and pragmatic defender of safeguarding the public funds we manage on a daily basis. In my spare time, I am an avid gardener, cook, volunteer, and a traveler. When on vacation, I strive to visit one or two destinations I’ve never visited to meet new people and discover their culture and habits. The process of exploring new cultures has encouraged me to be more cognizant of the diverse communities, and cultures in our midst.

In summary, I believe my wide-ranging experiences speak to the mission and duty of the Staff Assembly Finance Chair- Elect position in important ways. I hope you will favorably consider my candidacy for this elected position. Thank you for your consideration and time.
